The brand new single 'Pieteron' is out now on Moshi Moshi, following a summer packed with festivals and a stand-out performance at Glastonbury 2023.

Fulu Miziki roughly translates as “music from the garbage”, which in a literal sense is an accurate description of the thrillingly chaotic Afro-Futurist collective. The instruments they design, build and play are masterclasses in upcycling.

On 'Pieteron', the band say, "In that dark moment, in the absence of any colour when nothing makes sense, it’s just you. This is the moment when you realise that nothing lasts forever and you worship the energy around you, giving you the strength to dance and enjoy life.

Pieteron is a song to celebrate and to evoke the energy and the courage to exist. It’s by calling on Pieteron that we exist and celebrate the work we do, travelling back through time to where we believe we belong.

This song was created during a dark moment, when all colours were just one, and when everything went into the celebration of existing. It takes its particular sounds from all our traditional music, to move you from one place to another in the blink of an eye. This is our anthem, our moment to celebrate the joy of being.

This song was produced by us during our time in Uganda. The recording process was an amazing experience - we only had access to one single microphone to record the whole live band and the studio space was so small that only one instrument could be recorded at a time, but this allowed us to create an amazing sound."
